Citizens for Global Solutions 2022 Annual Conference

A Citizens for Global Solutions hosted conference which includes Dr. Tiziana Stella, Executive Director of the Streit Council for a Union of Democracies, Dr. Glen T. Martin, Professor of Philosophy at Radford University, Dr. Joseph Baratta, Professor of History and Political Science at Worcester State University, Sovaida Ma'ani Ewing, Director of CPGG: Center for Peace and Global Governance, and Dr. Wolfgang Pape, Research Fellow with CEPS. Dr. Tiziana Stella presented her "Union of Democracies" paper.

The Streit Council hosted a dinner and lecture given by Ettore Greco, Deputy Director, Institute of International Affairs (Rome). His address examined the current state of the European integration process.

Global Warming: Engaging the US at the G8 Summit

With the 2007 announcement by the G8 to take joint action on climate change, the Streit Council co-sponsored a panel discussion on global warming, which was scheduled to coincide with the G8 Summit in Heiligendamm, Germany that took place from June 6-8,  2007. 
 

Creating a Barrier-Free Transatlantic Market

April 30, 2007

The Streit Council and the National Press Club co-sponsored this discussion on the problems European and American leaders will face if there is an attempt to create a barrier-free transatlantic trade zone by 2015. This event was scheduled to coincide with the US-EU Summit. At the Summit, the US and EU established the Transatlantic Economic Council with a program of completing the transatlantic market through regulatory harmonization.

Global Threats, Atlantic Structures

At the Hudson Institute, the Streit Council co-sponsored a conference with former Spanish Prime Minister Jose-Maria Aznar. Speakers discussed the advanteges of Atlantic unity when dealing with global threats.

Atlanticism in 20th Century U.S. Foreign Policy

The Streit Council organized a panel discussion at the Annual Meeting of the Society of Historians of American Foreign Relations. The panel discussed US foreign policy and the implications for the EU-US relations.
 

Euro-Atlantic Integration and Russia after September 11th

This conference in Moscow centered on key issues related to European integration policies and their implications for Russia. It outlined the measures Russia can take in order to stregthen its relations with the EU and US.
