Events

In working toward better-organized and deeper cooperation between the US and Europe, along with other OECD democracies, the Streit Council hosts and attends relevant policy discussions.

Academic and Policy Events

These are summaries of events in Washington, DC that Streit Council fellows and interns have attended. They discuss various topics which involve transatlantic relations and are related to the work of the Streit Council. Frequent hosts of these events are the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), the Brookings Institution, the Heritage Foundation, and the Atlantic Council of the United States, among others.

Streit Council Sponsored Events

These are events which have been sponsored by the Streit Council, discussing various topics on transatlantic relations and Atlanticism. They have covered issues related to transatlantic trade and economics, the environment and global climate change, and the course of transatlantic integration. Distinguished guests at these events have included former French Prime Minister Edouard Balladur, former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar, and members of the U.S. Congress and European Parliament.
